P213 High prevalence and risk factors for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in patients with Crohn's disease

Abstract Background Prevalence of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) is increasing in patients with Inflammatory Bowel (IBD), particularly Crohn's (CD). Despite this, the mechanisms and risk factors NAFLD IBD are still poorly understood controversial. The aim this study was to assess prevalence for CD. Methods Prospective conducted among consecutive CD treated at Diseases outpatient clinic University Hospital between July 2021 May 2022. Demographic, anthropometric characteristics, food intake, previous current medications, pre-existing diseases, laboratory tests, plasma levels trimethylamine oxide (TMAO) data were collected. All participants underwent ultrasound (US) upper abdomen evaluation classification NAFLD. Results One hudndred three a mean age 45.2 ± 15.0 years, 35.9% (n=37) male. 40.8% (n=42) overweight (BMI>25kg/m²) present 62.1%.
